Lately, what have you done in the name of entertainment? Watched a movie in a theatre? Listened to some music on your phone, or at a party? What if we told you that there was so much more to entertainment than just this?
Citizens of Bengaluru have taken it upon themselves to preserve the arts and performances, which face the threat of endangerment from other modes of entertainment such as films. Homes are being opened up to artists as alternatives for performance spaces, where a group can gather to watch local artists express themselves to their audience. Though children-centric performances happen often, there wasn’t anything to engage the parents.
With more spaces like this opening up, it not only gives scope for more youngsters to take up the arts without the fear of not getting projects; but it also brings communities together.
The citizens of Bengaluru are bringing back what was once a part of their regular lives. What is something that you feel that your city can do, to bring back old traditions? Comment and let us know!
